The 4th of July Week

As I swept the cheerios off the floor, throw away the pizza boxes and changed multiple beds, I thought did William's great grandparents know that they would bring together generations to come, the great grandson who has grown into a wonderful man, who's experiences at the beach have helped shape him into a great father and husband, his beautiful great great grandchildren that cherish every moment at the beach and love to see all the memories of their family, another great grandson who is generous and good to everyone, the young cousin who is a solider who is an awesome person and friend, and his grandchildren and their spouses who love and cherish his home and last but not least his daughter who loves them all and is very generous to share this home with us. I think this is a house that has been lived in and loved this week, how lucky that I was a part of that. Thank you



Our vacation was great. We had so much family time maybe a little too much. I love my family do not get me wrong but 10 days with very little break from each other is a little much. We went to the lake and enjoyed the lots for family fun. Pool, Boats, Water Skies, Feeding the fish and oh so much more.

The girls and William love boats me on the other hand not so much, but the boat we were on this weekend was great big fast and safe for the kids. I enjoyed going on the boat as much as you can when you have a baby who has decided she needs to be the center of attention walking back and forth from the front to the back and over again it was really cute I think she liked the wind but could not decided which way she liked better. So I decided to buy myself some new sunglasses for all my work. I love sunglasses, they are great to hide behind when you are tired, hungover and having a great time being with good friends which was pretty much our state the whole weekend.

We set off fireworks, we watched fireworks and had a great time celebrating with our friends. The kids loved having a built in friend when we would get up they would play till it was time for bed, and they got a long well kinda like brother and sister.

We left on the 4th got home around two it was a long ride everyone was tired but no one slept, that was supposed to be it, but my husband really wanted to head to the beach to see his family so we packed the girls back up and off we went to the beach with one stop Target and bought a dual headrest DVD player and some movies. What a lifesaver!!!! The ride was fast Emme and I slept Lexi watched DVD's and Will drove. We got there shortly after 7:00pm I was so glad to be out of the car lordy, lordy what a long day.

The beach was great but Emme hates the sand, when she got near it she screamed and cried, the water was cold so Alexis did not stay on the beach long. So I got to hang out with the girls, drink beer and get some sun while Will watched the girls at the house. What bliss silence. We had a great week with the family. We missed Will's grandmother, William has so many great memories of the house growing up and playing on that beach, learning to surf, fishing and just hanging out. We hope our daughters get to enjoy the same experiences.

Alexis finally remembered what she wanted and that was a hole a deep hole so she can play in it, the problem is to make it somewhat safe it has to be wide and deep to hit the water table so Alexis is satisfied. Saturday William spent two hours digging a hole that was covered over when we got back from dinner. The best part was Emme finally figured out the sand and would run from shore to the dune and back again, what a great night Saturday turned out to be. Sunday William got up and surfed and then we dug another hole this time I helped but we were not able to hit water before heat and sun exposure made us quit but it was another great day. The hole was kinda like a playpen since now that Emme got the hang of the sand she was off and running and right in to the water where she would plop down in the breakers and let the water hit her feet. We got home late Sunday and Alexis is already asking to go back. We are having a great summer.
