Famly Time

Thanksgiving is creeping up on use like a cloud of dust with Aunt's, Uncle's, Brothers with their families, Sisters with their families and god knows how many other crazies tumbling, rolling and barreling towards us with just days left to batten down all the hatches and cover you head. Remember those old cartoons when they would fight and all you would see is this ball of dust rolling towards the screen with arms and legs flailing in the dust ball, this is how I see my Thanksgiving. How to prepare? I want to know Who said holidays are all about family? What they are really meant to say is, Holidays are about getting together with a bunch of people you love but drive you straight to the bar, you make a bunch of food which is really store bought but you pretend it is homemade and to keep that a secret you make sure you pulled off all the stickers and throw away the receipt in a bag you take out and put in the trash can, you clean your house like you never have before so you can look like a fabulous homemaker that would never allows the girls to not put away their toys at night, you get your hair done so it looks like a perfect coif, you get new makeup to hopefully hide the nights of missed sleeping worrying about the holiday, so when you see me you will know I am the perfect Domestic Goddess and I never miss a step, wink wink all the time thinking I can not believe I pulled it together and look this good, that is till you get the pictures and see there is a Mrs Ukrops sticker stuck to you bottom and yes your wonderful family is really pointing and laughing. Maybe this year we can all just be ourselves...................Hahahahahahahahahaha. Enjoy your double life, I sure do.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Enjoy your family Dammit!

Dear Domestic Godess,
"It requires as much caution to tell the truth as to conceal it."
You must keep your expectations appropriate and realistic or you will end up with feelings that are mountain high and valley low, instead of traveling the sane, happy ridgeline of life....Happy Turkey Day!
